Started in 2014, Reflections is a series of portraits of female artists, entrepeneurs, and professionals revolving around the themes of self-dentity, authenticy, struggle and hope. When listening to their stories and capuring them at a specific stage of their life experiences, it is clear that these women are more similar than they are different, which shows that, globally, we are closer to each other than we think.
Heeseo is a creative and driven woman whose life went through a series of straight lines and sharp turns. Her latest impulse for change brought her to New York City, to a new set of challenges which forced her to climb a steeper learning curve.
Praxy is a mix media artist from El Salvador. Her first try at becoming an independent artist took her through a series of loops and turns that paused her creativity. Taking risks again helped her get past some of her road blocks but found herself struggling with having become one grain of sand amongst 8 million.
Nina’s passion for music and her dedication to create opportunities for self-expression through the study of a classical instrument reaches dozens of children each year. She teaches piano to diverse crowds and each year gathers her students for a culminating recital.
Born in France from Vietnamese parents, Sam's experience growing up in between cultures is reflected by the two strong—and contradictory—sides of her personality: on the one hand, her instinctive empathy and compassion for others pushed her to become a doctor; on the other hand, her free-spirited mindset brought her to travel extensively whilst expressing her creativity in witty, sharp, and humanizing drawings.
